Loss of pets

Mike is a pit bull that my daughter rescued. He stayed for 5 years before she adopted him. Mike was full of energy and love. A month before his one year anniversary, Mike started crying because of the pain. An MRI showed he had prostate cancer that had spread to his abdomen and spine. Five days after what would have been his 8th birthday and four days after Christmas, we had to send him to doggy heaven. Although we gave him the best year of his life, it was still the most heartbreaking thing my daughter had to do. He was her baby and my daughter's world revolved around Mike, so I painted a picture of him so he could be with her forever.”
